Shaping The Future of Finance and Economic Governance
Elsie Addo Awadzi is currently a Visiting Fellow at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford. She is a globally recognized financial sector governance and economic policy management expert with 30 years of multi-sector experience across financial services regulation and development, central banking, international development, finance, and law.
Her work has shaped macroeconomic policy, public financial management, sovereign debt restructuring, sustainable finance, and financial stability frameworks across Africa and globally - including seven years as Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana managing financial and macroeconomic crises and post-crisis reform efforts, and six years as Senior Counsel at the IMF, supporting G20 and emerging economies.
She brings extensive experience in financial regulation, economic policy making, public debt management, board governance, ESG/climate-related risk, and inclusive finance.
